Just over a year ago I hosted the very first Rock Your Goals workshop in Adelaide, and on September 14th I had the absolute pleasure of hosting my sixth event at the wonderful Orto Trading Co. in Sydney.

A gorgeous group of women came together to share a beautiful evening of fun, food and inspired goal setting, and I honestly have to pinch myself at times because I can’t believe that this is my job now.

Not that long ago I was feeling stuck and unhappy.

I had a day job that paid the bills, but I didn’t love it, and rather than being something that ‘facilitated the fun’ (aka paid for the lovely life I wanted outside my beige, windowless cubicle) it was something that drained me and had me feeling disillusioned on a daily basis.

I spent all my free time searching for something MORE, but I wasn’t sure exactly what that was.

I craved happiness, freedom, and for life to ‘make sense’.

I tried endless hobbies and set mountains of goals, but nothing ever really changed.

On reflection, it’s probably because I let other people define things like happiness and success for me.

I felt like I needed to fit in or follow the crowd.

I lost track of who I was and what I really wanted.

And honestly, it sucked.

It meant I was never truly me and I was never truly happy.

So after lots of reading, learning, counselling and self-discovery, I came across this thing called blogging.

I decided to try it, and I fell in love – with the people, the stories and the connection.

I felt like I’d found my tribe and it felt amazing.

I also realised the biggest gift I could ever give myself was the gift of being me.

Without apology.

Without judgment.

Without needing to shift, change or be anything other than just ‘me’.

And it was liberating.

It’s a gift I wanted to share with every single soul out there who’s ever felt lost, alone, or like ‘there must be more than this’ to life.

And so, the Rock Your Goals workshop was born.

I was going to say, ‘it’s not revolutionary, nor is it earth shattering stuff’, but you know what?

It actually is.

Because giving another human on the path to self-discovery the space, permission, support, tools and, most importantly, the time, to switch off the noise of life for a few hours and invite them to reconnect with themselves, with their heart, with their soul, with their passion. That’s powerful stuff.

And whether goal setting is brand new to you or you’re a seasoned pro who rocks their goals like nobody’s business, so often what holds us back is the belief that we don’t have time.

Time to think about ourselves.

Time to think about our goals.

Time to write them down.

And especially time to bring them to life.

But on September 14th, a beautiful group of women joined me in Sydney to MAKE time.

To put themselves first, just for an evening. To meet new people. To make new friends. To be supported and encouraged to follow their bliss.

I couldn’t be more grateful to the incredible women who came along.

They’re brave, they’re strong and they’re ready to decide for themselves how their future will look and feel.

I want to thank each and every one of my gorgeous guests who took part in the Rock Your Goals Sydney workshop. It was and absolute pleasure to spend the evening getting to know you, being inspired by you and goal rocking with you.
