The Lady Boss Credo – Rachel MacDonald & Tara Bliss

The Lady Boss Credo by Rachel MacDonald and Tara Bliss

If you saw my previous post about the Infinite workshop in Sydney hosted by the beautiful Rachel MacDonald and Tara Bliss (read it here) you’ll know it was a weekend of inspired learning, fear busting and heart opening for talented female entrepreneurs.

It was two incredible days of laughter, love, clarity, connection and a whole lot of stepping it up.

It’s with all love and huge gratitude to Rach and Tara that I’m able to share a snippet of their genius from the weekend with you.

It’s called the Lady Boss Credo and it’s the ultimate heart centred business woman’s modus operandi (that’s the fancy pants Latin way of saying “way of doing things”).

Check it out…

Put yourself on the path time and time again

PUT YOURSELF ON THE PATH TIME & TIME AGAIN

If you want it you have to start and if you really want it you have to keep going.

Keep putting yourself out there and keep working, even when the path is unclear or you get a little off track. Come back to your purpose, your passion and the joy you feel in your heart and soul for this beautiful vision of yours. Hold that close and keep going.

Rach + Tara say:

Commit every day to your dream & to your vision

Fail fantastically & fail often

FAIL FANTASTICALLY & FAIL OFTEN

If you’re going to fail, fail big and fail often!

For example, have you heard of Thomas Edison? Sure it’s an over-used example but it’s incredibly relevant. When inventing the light bulb he said “I have not failed, I have just found 10,000 ways that won’t work.” Did he quit? No! He kept going and his persistence and belief in his dream led to his ultimate success.

The message is just keep going. Next time something doesn’t work take a deep breath, pat yourself on the back for trying, learn from it and then get right back in there and try again. And remember, “You never truly fail until you stop trying” (Albert Einstein).

Here’s another example that Tara shared at Infinite: Ramit Sethi, author of “I will teach you to be rich” has an email folder in his inbox called “Failures”. The only failure in his business is not adding at least 2 or 3 items to this folder every single month. Want to know more? Watch this video.

Remember too that failure isn’t personal. It doesn’t mean you’re a crap person or you can’t be successful. Failure just means you chose a path or implemented a process and it didn’t work. It’s not about you, it’s about learning. Failure is just success in progress so keep going beautiful!

Rach + Tara say:

Look at failures as opportunities to learn and grow.

No one can empower you but YOU

NO ONE CAN EMPOWER YOU BUT YOU

You have to trust in your own beautiful, inspired and delicious vision for your life and your business. All the courses, classes, feedback and external validation in the world won’t help you if you don’t believe with every fibre of your being that you want it and that you can do it.

Don’t wait for other people to tell you your idea is good enough or that you’re on the right track and don’t do it because you want other people to love you, accept you, admire you or approve of you. This has to come wholly and entirely from YOU.

The truth is some people will judge you, some people will drift out of your life and some people just won’t understand what you’re doing or why you’re doing it;

You spent how much on an online course?”

You got published on what? What’s an Elephant Journal? Is that good?”

You did your first what? What’s a v-blog? Is that short for very big log? Have you taken up hiking again?”

I’ll say it again – you have to trust in your own beautiful, inspired and delicious vision for your life and your business.

Trust yourself, back yourself, believe in yourself and empower yourself. Go forth and shine beautiful.

Rach + Tara say:

You are the authority on your dreams and desires.

Run your own race and keep your nose on your own business

RUN YOUR OWN RACE & KEEP YOUR NOSE ON YOUR OWN BIZ

Commit to you and your path. Focus on what you want to do; where you want to be and stop measuring yourself against others. There will always be people further along than you and there will always be people just starting out.

When you compare yourself to others and their journey you take away your power, you stop being authentic and you stop doing your own thing. Don’t be a half assed imitation of someone else, whether you admire them or not. Be wholly and entirely you. Create from your heart, from your soul and from your own unique blend of knowledge and experience. Do your thing your way and don’t be afraid to stand out. Keep your eyes on your own prize and shine baby shine.

Rach + Tara say:

When you commit to your path there’s no such thing as competition.

I love “no one can empower you but YOU!” It’s a great reminder that we can’t rely on others to fulfill our dreams – we are ultimately responsible. That is so inspiring! Xxx

You’re welcome Katherine. It was definitely a great weekend. I was really inspired by Ramit Sethi’s story too. I love the idea of ‘failure’ being a positive part of learning, business and personal expansion.

Oh, I love number 1. I can totally relate to the constant practice of re-aligning and re-committing to your path. It gets easier the more you do it. Thank you, Sarah!
